Some guiding words to keep me grounded and focussed on my educational journey towards 21st Century Learning in my classroom.

The Tinker Thinker: "The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn." Alvin Toffler. Welcome to Tinker Thinker. My name is Ms. Zander. I am an elementary school classroom teacher of 25+ years. I have taught grades 1 through 7 and have always enjoyed challenging my students to question and think deeply about issues close to their heart. I am in my first teacher-librarian role in an amazing school library. I live with my husband, and two teenaged children. We are all active mountain bikers, skiers and 'thinkers.' Although adventurous in the outdoors, I am not adventurous in the digital world. I invite you to follow me on my journey to become a 21st Century teacher of reading, writing, and math literacy. It’s time to learn, unlearn and relearn, starting with the creation of this blog. I value the opportunity to learn, live, play, and work on the unceded and traditional territories of the Coast Salish people, specifically the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw and Səlilwətaɬ Nation.
